  San Vincenzo:
offers together with its natural beauties the comforts of a pleasant and friendly place. It is the ideal destination of international tourism, where it is possible to spend relaxing and quiet holidays
It was already populated in ancient time, and later settled by Etruscans and Romans. San Vincenzo is world-famous for the excellent wines of the region and for its restaurants, which offer a typical local cuisine. San Vincenzo is the ideal starting point for interesting visits and excursions on the Etruscan Coast, because it is situated near the park of Rimigliano, a rich and conservation area, the medieval villages, the Etruscan ruins of Baratti and Campiglia and the thermal baths of Venturina. San Vincenzo beaches are washed by a clear sea and surrounded by a thick pinewood and a lush maquis.

  Suvereto:
Suvereto, one of the oldest places of Val di Cornia, is situated on a hill near the sea. The political history of Suvereto is strictly tied to the strong personality of its population, who has always shown a deep originality, boldness and love for their town. This is the reason why Suvereto became the first free city-state of the northern Maremma in 1201.
The old town has kept its historical and artistic features: If you walk through the lanes of the village, you can still feel the typical atmosphere of the past centuries.
The hill of Suvereto is dominated by Aldobrandeschi fortress, dated back before the 10th century, the walls and the towers around the village. The town hall is dated back to the 13th century and is famous for its particular entrance, a porch called “loggiato dei giudici” (giudici means “judges”), because in the Middle Age the local judges passed here their sentences.

  Piombino:
Piombino is situated on the homonymous promontory. It is a mining town of Etruscan origin, which has always had a deep relationship with the sea, as you can see visiting the centre. From the old village, it is possible to admire one of the most enchanting seascapes of the Tyrrhenian region with the blue water of the Tuscan archipelago. The very old Falesia harbour, of which we have some news only from the 5th century, is an important trading port and marina today, connected to the main Islands of the Tuscan archipelago. Every day, many ferries leave to the most important Island of the Tuscan archipelago. In the immediate vicinity of Piombino, there is one of the famous places of the region, Buca delle fate, a pretty bay of steep rock, which only a few people can reach to enjoy the wild and rugged nature.

  Populonia:
Populonia is situated on a hill, surrounded by the sea. The town still has its medieval walls, built in order to protect the population from the barbaric pirate attacks, and the fortress, erected in the half of the 15th century for Jacopo II Appiani’s will. Inside the walls, there is a picturesque little village of the 14th century with its two main lanes, San Giovanni di Sopra and San Giovanni di Sotto, where a little, but important, private museum hosts Etruscan and Roman finds, found in the excavations of the region and the sea.
From the medieval fortress (it is possible to visit it), you can enjoy a wonderful view of the underlying plain and the Tuscan archipelago.

  Venturina:
The modern projection of the old Campiglia is certainly Venturina. This small and noble town, situated on the main road Aurelia, is densely populated and, thanks to its annual shows, full of frenzied activities of the tertiary sector. Its oldest part is Caldana with its Romanesque mausoleum and “Via dei Mulini” (the way of the mills), which goes from the old Bottaccio (today Calidario) to the railway line.
At the beginning of the way, it is possible to see the ruins of a vast ecclesiastical complex: the little church of Santa Lucia that gives the name to the underlying stadium. This region is rich in hot springs (f.e. Caldana) and has an economic importance thanks to organoleptic qualities of this water.

  Campiglia Marittima:
The archaeological ruins in the region show that there were some pre-medieval settlements here. The first document where Campiglia has been mentioned is the deed of gift of the count Gherardo II della Gherardesca in 1004, which donated half of Campiglia castle with its landed properties and the church, and parts of the nearby Biserno, Acquaviva and Montecalvo castles (the present S. Silvestro fortress) to S. Maria di Serena monastery near Chiusdino.
Campiglia fortress became an important Florentine outpost until 4th June 1509, date of Alvino battle. The Florentine troops that were previously settled in the fortress entered the field and changed the tide of the battle. From that time on, it lost constantly its strategic importance until 1664, when the property in the walls of the fortress was rented as agricultural land.

  Massa Marittima:
Massa Marittima is situated in the region of the "metalliferous hills", famous for its innumerable minerals from the ancient times. The beautiful central place, Piazza Garibaldi with the Cathedral, the Priors' Palace and the town hall, is worth seeing in the village.
The wonderful Cathedral was built in Romanic-Gothic style of Pisa. The town hall is also in Romanic style, but the structure is more complex: there are three different buildings, the original hall, the tower and the palace of the counts of Bisenzio. Today two important cultural centres are located in this Romanic palace: The town picture gallery and the archaeological museum.
